Major props to Cakegrrl out Sacramento way for turning us on to the fact that our beloved Trader Joe's has a brand new website. And, yes, the new Fearless Flyer is finally here! :-))

oh, my god! is this a small world or what? did you see my bonbonerie post from back in may or so?

i'd love to meet you, cakegrrl, if i can get around by then. i'm still recovering from a stroke i had in june and my mobility ain't what it used to be!

Ha, June 10th is one day after my birthday (the day of your BonBon post). So, if you can't get out, I'll have to bring you some tuxedo torte from there. People always like the opera creme, but I prefer the tuxedo. Their white chocolate icing is legendary. I used to deliver wedding cakes for them. It was so fun working there.
Another neat place in Hyde Park is Chateau Pomije (wine shop).
I really miss LaRosa's pizza, but not so much the Skyline chili. I am more of a Gold Star girl.
I wonder how many more restaurants Jeff Ruby has opened since I left... HA!

oh, cakegrrl, it would be great to get together. and, you know, i have never had either the opera cream OR tuxedo cake! i'm sure they are both to die for...

i love larosa's pizza too, but almost never have it. maybe we could make a perverse dinner out of all this when you visit ;-))

YAY! What's your fave "cincinnati" food? what do you think is the most overrated?

hmmm. well, that's a good question. i like them, but i think montgomery inn's ribs may be overrated. (and let's not even go INto goetta territory.)

favorite(s)? adriatico's garlicky NY-style pizza. pomidori's woodfired seafood asparagus pizza. graeter's raspberry chip, caramel, peach, and pumpkin spice ice creams. the new gelatos (amerino cherry, blueberry) from madison's organic produce at findlay market. the variety of brownies from embrace sweets at findlay market. the raspberry-pineapple "shake-a-sundae" from Dari-Crest in latonia. oh, i know i'm forgetting something!

wow. i've never been there, but always wanted to try it. pam sturkey's desserts always sound so delish.

did you know that le cezanne went out of business? or that jean-robert opened a new place in covington called jean-robert's greenup cafe where wildflour bakery used to be?

no, didnt... did the maisonette move out of downtown? i alays wanted to go to Wildflour but never did, oops!
I met mr. sturkey at a home show, as well as jean robert... I was like OMG, those people are CHEFS! My husband at the time didn't understand my enthusiasm... ;)

oh, dear. you haven't heard. the maisonette went out of business last spring. nat comisar is now selling real estate in the suburbs and, i kid you not, i read in the enquirer that he was going to provide maisonette recipes to buyers at certain price levels. kind of makes me sick.

i'm also sorry i couldn't save the recipes they had on their website before they took it down!! they're not even archived on the Wayback Machine now that the site is gone...
